When people hear the word yoga they immediately think of something floating and uncomfortable postures. However, this is a distorted picture. But what exactly does it mean? The word yoga comes from India. You can translate it as ‘connect’. You unite your body and mind with the help of breathing. To know exactly what yoga is, it is important that you also know what it is not.
It doesn’t matter how agile you are. Yoga is for everyone and can be important for everyone. It is about the spiritual development and brings you closer to yourself. Yoga does not fall under sports, even though it gives you more strength. You cannot be good or bad and there are no winners or losers at all. The point is that you take a step closer to yourself.
Types of yoga

Hatha yoga is for people who want to find peace in themselves. They also want to find more awareness and more flexibility in the body. You are mainly concerned with standing exercises and your breathing. The postures are performed separately. For beginners this is very nice, because the pace is fairly slow.
With Ashtanga yoga you mainly purify your body. There is particular emphasis on your breathing. The exercises blend into each other. Because of this, the exercises might go a bit smoothly as a beginner. However, experience shows that you can quickly control this. So don’t immediately think with the first trial lesson that you can’t do it and this doesn’t suit you
Pilates is a form of yoga focused on the muscles and consists most of floor exercises. With pilates the exercises are aimed at all parts of the body. Your muscles are strengthened and you become more flexible. People with back problems often like to follow pilates. It slowly makes the back stronger. In short you train: strength, balance, agility and control. So why not take a chance to participate in a lesson?

With pregnancy yoga you will be prepared for delivery. It takes away stress and you will come into contact with your body more. It keeps the body strong, healthy and flexible. For pregnancy yoga it does not matter how long you have been pregnant, as long as you are pregnant. If you have never done yoga before, we recommend that you come from the 14th week.
